Ashlee Health user guide & FAQ

Public documentation for patients, substitute decision-makers, clinical staff, and integrators. Last reviewed 2026-08-18.

What Ashlee Health is

Ashlee is an advance care planning platform that helps people document what matters to them for their care — in their own words — so clinicians and substitute decision-makers are not left guessing.

Ashlee guides a structured conversation, captures values and priorities, and produces a shareable values portrait. Ashlee is clinical decision support: it is not a doctor, lawyer, or decision-maker, and it does not give medical or legal advice.

Who Ashlee Health is for

Residents / patients who want to record their care values.

Substitute decision-makers (SDMs) speaking on behalf of a patient when authorized.

Clinical staff at participating long-term care and health organizations who admit residents, review portraits, and coordinate care planning.

How it works

Starting a conversation

From the Ashlee Health app, begin a new session and choose resident-led or SDM-led mode.

Review and accept the session terms before recording begins. Terms are available any time at /terms/.

Voice sessions are recorded as audio, announced at the start of the session; a written transcript is kept as part of the values record. Audio is retained for up to 120 days and can be deleted on request.

During and after the session

Ashlee asks guided questions about values, priorities, and care preferences.

When the conversation ends, Ashlee prepares a values portrait that can be reviewed and shared with the care team under your organization’s access rules.

You can ask to delete the audio recording; the transcript and captured values remain part of the clinical record unless separately requested under your organization’s policies.

Clinical staff workflows

Authorized staff sign in through the clinical portal (multi-factor authentication).

Staff can admit residents, open conversations, review portraits, and consult access logs according to role permissions.

Organizational membership and role checks scope what each user can see.
